Alcoholic

Alcoholic

Neon signs flicker under the moonless evening

Ladies walk with their hearts on cheeks

Smoking men in flinty leather jackets passing

The bar wile people in with drunken retro music

Obsolete misanthropes pick their poison

A shot to numb one’s bitter existence

Tequila to luxuriate lovers’ sweet disposition

With every empty glass comes violence

If my dear is nowhere to be found,

then sober I am not.

Barren-hearted and alcohol-drowned,

I find myself intoxicated to you on an empty boulevard.
