Infatuation
The elderly have warned me about a viral illness
where the hearts are most affected,
entrusting itself to strangers
whose heart beats for someone different.
The illness infects the bloodstream,
activating adrenaline on cheeks
whenever they pass by. It triggers smiles
to strike during twilight, causing loss
of sleep, and dream of impossible
fantasies. I'm afraid
They have diagnosed me
with Infatuation.
