Online Love
Why’d you have to compliment me and sit at the same table,
Why’d you had to ask if I was heading home?
Why’d you have to say sorry when you hurt me a little,
Why’d you had to tenure my head and make me write you a poem?
We crossed the road, and I crossed checkboxes
of signs you drew that seemed harmless;
Laughter of dryness until twelve in the morning,
Then the afternoon came with no eyes meeting.
And when the sun softens in the sky,
Your mind is a sudden lover of mine.
Sacrificing my dignity with each thought of reply,
Why did it all have to unfold online?
Eyes opening and closing, all of those we shared,
And when the time runs out, your mind is already changing;
You left my questions unanswered.
